Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre

I was recently tasked with choosing a rendezvous for a family meet up, to exchange my mother and niece to my sisters car for the second half of their South West trip from Newquay to Bridport.
I had been wanting to engineer an excuse visit Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre for such a long time, but going anywhere on the A30 in Summer without cause is just foolish.
I already knew I was going to love it, but I hadn’t banked on quite how much.
An entirely different animal to the fairgrounds of today, with the abhorrent strobe lights and thumping bass; Dingles is a place of pure Joy. A sensory explosion of nostalgia, adrenaline and titillating design.
The assault of colour, light and sound; simultaneously innocent and sinister.
Indulgent. Opulent. Dangerous. Intriguing. Beautiful.
Dingle’s is a charity, an important heritage site where you can go ON the rides of the past, where the Penny Arcade still operates with pennies, and the coconut shy uses actual coconuts.
